Mend & Personalize Your Denim with Hand-Stitching

Large Meeting Room Cary Memorial Library1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA, 02420

Ready to give your favorite jeans a second life and a splash of personality? Join visible mending instructor Mariko Sugimori of Mona & Zoe Mending for a fun, feel-good workshop where creativity meets sustainability.

In this upbeat, hands-on, 1.5-hour session, you’ll learn how to patch holes, cover up stubborn stains, and add some flair with decorative embroidery—all by hand. Whether your denim is a little loved or a lot lived-in, we’ll show you how to turn wear and tear into wearable art.

Some sewing experience helps, but if you’re a confident beginner with a can-do spirit, you’re totally welcome. We’ve got all the sewing materials covered—just bring your jeans! (No jeans? No problem. We’ll have fabric squares to practice on.)

Registration is required. Due to the popularity of our craft programs we are initiating a new registration process. Registration opens for Lexington residents on June 30. General public registrations will be approved to fill any remaining spaces after July 14.  After registering, you will receive a "Pending Confirmation" email. Once approved by the Programming Team, you will receive a secondary "Registration Confirmed" email. Any questions? Contact caryprograms@minlib.net

This program is made possible by the generous donors to the Cary Library Foundation.
